Bob Gallagher went to India for cardiac ablation through The Medical Tourist Company. Cardiac ablation costs £2,000 in India rather than £12,000 in the UK. Whilst in India, the surgeons discovered a problem that went undetected in the UK. He went on to have successful open heart surgery in India and return to the UK thoroughly satisifed. Here are his comments:

From first contact to hospital reception took just a few days with visas in place and hospital on standby. Professional and efficient are good descriptions of The Medical Tourist Company, but what did it for me is - friendly. This also best describes the staff at the hospital in Mumbai where I went for heart surgery. I could not have been in better hands. The hospital is a three year old, 5-star example of what you would like to think all hospitals should be. Their heart facilities are first-class and the surgeons are rated second to non by their professional colleagues. I could not have placed my well-being in the care of more considerate and competent people.

Dear Medical Tourist Company.

I would like to thank you for getting my visa in such a short time (2 days) and your help with everything. I was most impressed with everything, all the things you told me very understated as I received much more. I was VERY sceptical that the treatment would be delivered as you had said. It was indeed 5 star. I had all consultants working for me not only on gastric but everything else. Things that were thought wrong proved , with investigation were actually wrong. As a result my tablets were changed and have improved my asthma and the heart problem. With proper medical investigation it was proved I did not have a problem. I had been waiting for 12 months in England for this investigation.

I was looked after by a International patient executive called Roma, who explained everything, and after every meeting with Doctor she would come to my room and ask if everything was clear, if not she would sort things. I am still it touch with the Hospital and they are looking after my treatment, which is going better than expected.

After long consultations with the Doctors it was decided that the operation could be put on hold to see if my new regime would in fact cure the problem, and so far everything is fine. I was grateful to the Hospital for returning the operation money. I recommend your services to anyone and would answer any questions from your clients.

I have just returned from India after a heart operation. The Medical Tourist Company recommended a specialist hospital in Mumbai and not only did they make all the arrangements for me, arranged visas, a car to collect me from the airport, but they also put me in touch with the surgeon who would perform the operation and sent me his full CV. I even spoke to the surgeon before leaving. Everything went exactly as arranged. The hospital was fantastic, like a 5 star hotel with service to match, the staff and doctors second to none.

Operation over, the hospital and The Medical Tourist Company arranged a short holiday to Goa for me and my partner and kept in contact all the time. I never felt alone through all this and feel very lucky to have found the Medical Tourist Company. They even sent representatives to visit each day. My total bill was about a quarter of the UK projected cost.

Norman was looking to go to India for a specialist surgery. He contacted The Medical Tourist Company, who researched into the possibility of having this special type of surgery carried out in India. Following extensive research and correspondence with its partner hospitals it became apparent that this surgery could not be performed in India but an alternative method was available at another hospital.
